Cambodia
An alluring gem,
the Pearl of Asia.
Cambodia, with its capital Phnom Penh, also known as “the Pearl of Asia”, is an alluring gem in Southeast Asia, who awaits you with a fascinating ancient history of the Angkor Empire, of which the Angkor Wat is the most famous witness and a modern-day city bustle, while healing from its past from the Red Khmer, its scattered ancient temples tell their story of Kingdoms and cultural heritage. Cambodia boats a diverse and multi-faceted countryside, from luscious hills, to pristine beaches and islands, to sprawling cities and mellow riverside towns, where modern and traditional Khmer life and reminiscent French architecture meet.

Hi, thank you for being here and for taking us into consideration, we feel truly honored. We are aware that there is a lot of fantastic choice for you to pick for your next trip.
At tova travel, we have curated round trip tours for you that show you a country from a local and personal perspective. We prefer slow travel even though we move around quite a bit, it’s more the mindset. We want you to immerse yourself in the culture, learn from locals, taste the food, smell the air, sip the drinks and the hidden gems of every country and of every place with your local guide who knows best. We are not visitors - we live and breathe a culture.
For each trip to all of our offered itineraries, we have decided to travel in small groups of minimum 2 travellers (plus a host) and maximum 6 travellers (plus one host). This allows us to be present for you, and you to be part of a group as opposed to be part of an anonymous tour. Also, the idea of a small group is much more accessible for locals than larger groups.
One of the founding ideas of tova travel was to give back to people and create opportunities for locals. We know that there have been many false claims of sustainability in the tourism sector specifically. We work closely with locals, embrace and support local artists and wholeheartedly care about responsible tourism. Whenever possible, we choose accommodations who support eco-friendliness.

Are you curious and adventurous and want to squash in the most of your time into your trip to fully grasp the respective culture? Are you perhaps travelling solo but would want to be in a small group that feels like a group of friends travelling, sharing food and drinks around the table and many experiences on the road, rather than greeting strangers at the breakfast table? (Don’t worry, we have included flex time as well to charge those social batteries if you need to.) Do you want to connect with the local culture? Do you like balance, to lay your head in a stylish boutique hotel but also sample street food? Do you know that in Cambodia things might work differently, the bus might not be on time but you are in it for the adventure?
Then you are one of us and this tour is for you. Come and join us!If you unsure, and would like to speak to us first, we are very happy to talk via zoom with you. Please just let us know :)

Cambodia’s weather brings annually wet and dry seasons, generally hot during the day time and a bit cooler at night, and in the early morning. When you decide on what to pack and wear during your trip, please choose whatever is most comfortable but remember to dress appropriately to respect the locals and other religious sites such as pagodas, temples and holy places. Clothes must cover your shoulders, and when you go to meet Buddhist monks. Other than that, we’re striving for balance here, perhaps a chic roof top bar, but also a sweaty afternoon exploring.

For our Cambodia tour, we have chosen experiences and activities for you that capture the fascinating Khmer and modern day culture, which will bring you closer to the local culture. Depending on the season, we might have to change the activities to adjust to the season. For instance, the visit to the floating village is only available during the rainy and hot season. Instead, we will replace this tour with one that will be available with one that is available and which has the same value.
You will receive a complete full itinerary with all information you need in our “Welcome package”, including our guide on Cambodia with our personal tips, via e-mail.
Most of the tours in our itinerary are private tours, so just you and your host and your guide, others may be with other people. For instance, a performance at the Theatre will be open to the public.
We generally embrace and support the local culture, and also work with local guides, who are the ultimate expert on their culture. Our aim is to bring you close the Khmer culture and give you personal and unique insights.
